Minutes of the meeting of the Carlisle City Branch of the RMT held on the 2nd December 2008 at 19.00 hrs in the Kings Head, Fisher Street, Carlisle.

Members Present - M Robertshaw, J Wannop, S Nelson, CK Norendal, J Guerrero, S Adams, N Shaw, M Walker, M Eilbeck, A Johnson

The minutes from the Jan meeting were taken as read.

Matters Arising – None

Letters from Head Office – Read and Noted, no matters arising

Letters from Regional Organisers – Read and Noted, no matters arising

Any Other Business- A Johnson mentioned a discussion he had with Eric Martlew concerning a shortage of engineers on Network Rail.

K Norendal brought up the subject of the threats of violence on late trains. H&S Rep M Robertshaw informed the branch that it is an on going problem that is being looked into.

P. Milligan left a letter accusing his line manager of harassment. This accusation is being looked into.

Michael Foster is now the H&S rep in Carlisle Power Box

N. Shaw will take over from S Adams as officer for EWS ground staff.

C Johnston gave a report from the executive highlighting the problems with Carlisle Booking Office closing times and the on going state of relations with Story Rail.

The meeting ended at 2130, next meeting to be held in the Kings Head, Fisher Street, Carlisle at 1900 on Tuesday 3rd March.
